Still the bellman plays his song

Even through the threat of war
Even as the threat of violence
Lingers forth
Still the bellman plays his song.

Even as dreams may slowly die
While children laugh, scream, kick,
And cry
Still the bellman plays his song.

Even as we sit and prick and pry
Our sorrowful years they
Slowly unwind
Still the bellman plays his song.

Even as the dead are lifted
And singing
Even as every tear is wiped
From their eyes

Still the bellman plays his song.
Still the bellman plays his song.
